Flat first, then tile
We grind high spots, self-level low ones, then lay out from the sightline so cuts land under the base. Movement joints go where the floor changes direction or material. Transitions sit flush, grout lines run straight, lippage stays tight.

Why does the floor need to be flat first?
Large-format tile shows every hump and dip as lippage. Flattening the floor is most of the job.
Can tile go over my existing floor?
Sometimes, over a sound substrate. Often the old floor has to come up. We check at the walkthrough.
